You have to be mentally ready to make significant changes in your diet regime. To date I haven’t been very good at following fad diets. I was inspired to try the Sirt Food Diet after reading an article about singer Adele’s remarkable weight loss on this diet. Of course a multi millionaire has access to a personal chef, personal trainer, and time to focus. Having a favourable environment and support network of health conscious friends she was guaranteed success. But hey, I thought I’d give it a try and the results were pretty instant. I lost my first 7lbs on the structured regime of x3 juices a day and one sirt food meal for the first three days, then x2 juices and two meals per day for the proceeding four days. After that you have x1 juice a day and three meals for fourteen days to maintain the weight lost.

The great thing is Sirt Foods help you build muscle tone so you actually look more toned rather than saggy. Also the meals are absolutely delicious. I’ve learnt a few new signature dishes I can make when entertaining family and friends. Your shopping will cost around £40

Top tips

  • Purchase the official book by authors Adian Goggins & Glen Matten

  • Keep an eye on how you’re feeling

  • You can have red wine & dark 85% coco chocolate to curb modern day sugar & alcohol cravings

  • Even though we’re super busy it’s good to prioritise our health and take time out to do something solely for yourself.

Lessons learned

“It’s bitter sweet, because I found myself really moody & noticed a loss of libido”

This came as a shock to me because diets are usually promoted as making us feel great. Everyone is different so this might just be a personal side effect of mine. Plus I’m sure with a slimmer, trimmer more toned body my libido will be restored in no time.

These foods in combination are full of flavour and taste really good.

I haven’t, but probably should’ve been exercising too.

I’ve found repeating the cycle more difficult with less rapid weight loss. The jury is out as I’m still on the journey. In the back of my mind, I think it might not be as revolutionary as I first thought. However my 8lbs lost so far has given me a boost and my clothes fit a tad better.

If you’re on this diet or decide to give it a try let me know how it goes.
